When Dan Marshall began working with watercolors, he was immediately taken by the sensitivity of the medium and the atmospheric effects he could achieve in his watercolor landscapes. They feature a broad panning sweep; the compositional staging is highly stylized, abstract, and near-cinematic—calling to mind long opening shots in movies that are meant to imply a narrative or set an emotional tone.
