❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule my Individual Instruction session?
Once you purchase and fill out the above form, you’ll receive an email to schedule your 90 min Zoom session at a time that works for both of us. I’ll also ask a few questions to tailor the session to your needs.

What do I need to prepare for the Individual Instruction?
The session will be tailored to your needs that we will discuss prior to our meeting. To the meeting, bring your questions & have examples of your work available. If possible, join the meeting in your painting area as there may be real time exercises in addition to what Dan may teach or demo. Your time may include screen-sharing images, sketching together, and usually live demos depending on what you’re looking for.

How do I submit my painting for a critique?
After you purchase, you’ll get instructions on how to email your image (ideally a well-lit photo or scan), along with any context you’d like to share. You’ll get your video critique within 5–7 days.

What if I want my critique live with Dan?
For a live version of the critique session, purchase the Individual Instruction option.

Can I send more than one painting for critique?
Critiques are for up to 3 paintings per session,  If you’d like feedback on additional pieces, you can book additional critique slots.

Is the instruction recorded?
Yes! Your Zoom session will be recorded and a link emailed to you after, so you can revisit it as often as you like. The critique session is done by  recording and a link to the video will be sent within 5-7 days.

I’m not sure my work is “ready”—should I wait?
Not at all. These sessions are meant to support you at any stage. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re refining advanced work, there’s always value in a fresh perspective.

Do you offer packages or ongoing mentorship?
These are one-off sessions—if you’re looking for something more structured or ongoing, take a look at the Watercolor Atelier Program or reach out through the form above and we can talk about options for packages
