Paper
My preferred papers are 100% cotton St Cuthbert’s Mill Saunders Waterford and Hahnemuhle – 140lb rough paper
For plein air work I generally work in US standard framing sizes – 9×12, 11×14, 8×16, 12×16 etc
Palette
My Current palette is a La Petite Palette Binning Monroe – found HERE
Brushes
A medium & large squirrel mop, Escoda Perla #’s 10 & 12 are a must. The #’s of squirrel mops vary greatly by brand but I tend to use the Escoda Aquario in #’s 10 & 14
Cheaper synthetic squirrel mops are ok but they do not perform as well.
A variety of brushes is important, I also use various sables etc – I do NOT use any flat types of brushes.

- 7mm mechanical pencil, hb lead
- Plastic eraser
- Water spritzer/ atomizer
- Support board to tape paper on
- Tissues
- Water container
*For workshops with a plein air focus, some sort of plein air easel set up is highly advised*

- First choice – St Cuthbert’s Mill Saunders Waterford 140lb rough (any 100% cotton watercolor paper is ok though)
Brushes
- A medium & large squirrel mop (Fuumuui #4&6 are an inexpensive option found on Amazon)
- Escoda Perla synthetic pointed round #’10 & 12
- 4,6,8 Sable (or sable alternative however natural bristles are better)
- Any additional variety HOWEVER I DO NOT USE FLAT BRUSHES
